India – A Land of Dreams

Indian subcontinent has been rightly called by many experts of culture as the land of dreams.  Many philosophers and lovers of culture have explored this country from the ancient times. The philosophers like Hun sang described this country as the treasure house of knowledge. He was associated with the University of Nalanda. With the passage of time, many changes took place in this country and there were invasions by the people from the foreign lands.

The Mughals ruled this nation for about more than 400 years; they did lot of work in many areas like the art and architecture. Emperor Shahjahan made famous monument of love Taj Mahal known all over the world as one of the greatest wonders of the world. It was also voted as the number 1 wonder in the world by the online voting poll. The legend says the masons involved in construction of this fine monument were given a punishment by cutting their hands so that any other monument of this type will not be constructed in this world.

Before Mughals there were invasions on the temples like Somnath in Gujarat where lot of gold, jewelry and precious metals were stored. The invaders like Mohammed Ghazni destroyed and looted the temple and its wealth. Even today, the wealth in some temples like Padmanabasamy temple of Kerala has been estimated at 1 lac crore and one of the chambers of the temple is still to be opened. It contains more wealth than found in the other chambers; it has been revealed by some people involved with the temple.

India is a country with an exotic beauty of all types, diverse cultures and religions. This makes it a special country. Kashmir is pride of India and is a beautiful landscape attracting tourists from all over the world. Then comes Ladakh and Kargil and these are beautiful regions and the global travelers love to visit them. Ladakh is famous for some of the leading Buddhist monasteries of the world.  Kashmir is famous for its lakes, gardens made by Mughals and the Himalayan range which is the crown.

Delhi is the capital of the Indian nation after the independence of the country from the British rule. It is a beautiful city for tourists and people of all cultures and races of the country live in this city. It is famous for red fort, lotus temple and these monuments attract tourists from all across the globe. There is Himayun tomb and Kutub Minar also. Many movie shoots have been done here.

In the northern belt of the country, Rajasthan is an important state attracting tourists from across the world. It is a state having famous for its royal culture. The cities like Jodhpur and Jaipur are famous for some of the world renowned forts like Mehrangarh, Aamer. Besides this, Jodhpur palace is famous and the king Maharaja Gaj singh still lives there. Rajasthan has hill spots like mount Abu and also the beautiful Sand hills of Jaisalmer are famous all over world.
